Taliesin Port to BF and return  145min

It is the final day of the 2017 operating system and Taliesin is the loco in steam. During the first return run there were some issues with the injectors so the loco has rushed up to Boston Lodge works to see if the issues can be resolved. Running repairs have been carried out, the loco has been passed to haul the final train of the day and this is where the scenario begins.

You will drive to Porthmadog to take water, and collect the train, and then drive a full return journey to Blaenau Ffestiniog before ending the day back at Boston Lodge – timings are based on the actual 13:35PM departure on November 5th, 2017.

Please follow all on-screen instructions.

Chiltern Main Line route (by Just Trains)

Class 68 to Birmingham Snow Hill - V1  112min

Due to some unfortunate technical issues with some of their Class 68 Locos Chiltern Railways are short of Class 68s - they have leased a Class 68 from Scotrail to temporarily bolster the fleet, it is the leased Scotrail loco that you will be driving today.

On a gloomy, overcast but dry day you will be driving then 17:15 Class 68 Chiltern Mainline service from London Marylebone to Kidderminster as far as Birmingham Snow Hill where your shift will end.

The driven train and all passenger AI ( Chiltern and Cross Country ) are from the current timetables.

it is highly recommended that the Class 68 brake fix is installed, this is available from UKTS - ew.uktrainsim.com/FileInfo.aspx?file_id=36491

You will be driving a Virgin Trains Class 390 Pendolino from London Euston to Birmingham New Street calling at Milton Keynes, Coventry and Birmingham International en-route to Birmingham New Street.

Please note that I have used South West EMU stock on the Watford line....completely unrealistic but I do not have any correct stock for this route so please swap out with the stock of your choice, if the London Overground 378 appears in an upcoming sale I will swap it out.

Virgin Class 390 from London Euston to Birmingham New Street via Northampton  90min

On a foggy Autumn morning you will be driving a Virgin Trains Class 390 Pendolino from London Euston to Birmingham New Street calling at Milton Keynes, Coventry and Birmingham International enroute to Birmingham New Street, due to a landslip near Kilsby Tunnel trains are being diverted via the Northampton line - this will cause a delay to the service, try to minimise the delay whilst respecting all speed limits.

Class 86 London Euston to Wolverhampton      98min

It is July 1975 and you will be driving a Class 86 hauled Inter City service on a lunchtime departure from London Euston which terminates at Wolverhampton, you will be driving the train as far as Birmingham New Street where your shift, and the scenario, terminates.

As there is no correct EMU stock available for the route, and the period, I have used the Class 303 with a BR Blue reskin, and IOW ex. LU stock has been used for the Bakerloo Line to Watford Junction.

East Coast Class 91 from London Kings Cross to Newcastle

This series of 3 scenarios covers a complete journey from London Kings Cross to Newcastle in an East Coast Class91 on July 1st, 2014. You will depart London Kings Cross at 07:00AM and arrive at Newcastle at 10:08AM calling at Peterborough, Newark, Doncaster, York, Darlington and Durham.

I have tried to ensure that static stock at Peterborough and York is duplicated across the scenarios and the same weather pattern has been used for all 3 scenarios for continuity.

To drive the complete series you will require the following routes and add-ons -

Payware:
Creative Rail York to Peterborough
DTG East Coast Main Line            DTG Settle to Carlisle
DPS East Coast Main Line - North East ( available from Steam Workshop )

DTG Class 91      DTG Class 321      DTG EWS Class 66        DTG Freightliner Class 66

Freeware:
East Coast Class 91 reskin from http://www.dpsimulation.org.uk/reskins.html
East Coast Class 91 London Kings Cross to Newcastle - Kings Cross to Peterborough leg
45min

This scenario is the first in a 3 part series covering a journey in an East Coast Class 91 from London Kings Cross to Newcastle on July 1st, 2014 - this scenario covers the Kings Cross to Peterborough leg as you depart from Kings Cross at 07:00AM- you will be driving non-stop between Kings Cross and Peterborough.

Note that there is a faulty signal at the far end of the tunnel as you leave Kings Cross, approach slowly and Tab through after you have cancelled the AWS alarm - all other signals and speed limits should be obeyed......to obtain the best experience you should drive to line speed limits.

NB. This leg requires DTG London to Peterborough and Settle to Carlisle routes,DTG Class 321 and Class 91 add-ons (Expansion pack not required).
East Coast Class91 from London Kings Cross to Newcastle - Peterborough to York leg
80min

This is the second scenario in the 3 part series covering a complete journey from London Kings Cross to Newcastle, in this scenario you will be driving a Class91 from Peterborough to York calling at Newark and Doncaster.

Please obey all signals and speed limits, to obtain the best experience you should drive to the line speeds.

NB. For some reason the passenger drop off instruction would not work at any platform in York......when you arrive at York you just need to wait for the "stop at" instruction to complete and the scenario will end normally.

NB. Requires Creative Rail York to Peterborough, DTG East Coast Main Line and Settle to carlisle routes, DTG Class 91, EWS Class 66, Class 321 and Freightliner Class 66 add-ons.

NB. This scenario originated as a Career Scenario provided by Creative Rail with their York to Peterborough route - I have converted it to a Standard Scenario, changed the period to 2014, changed the passenger consists to East Coast Class 91s, East Coast HSTs and Norther 158s, added in additional stops and AI and tweaked some of the existing AI timings. Creative Rail have kindly given permission to share the revised scenario, I would also like to credit the original scenario creator.
East Coast Class 91 from London Kings Cross to Newcastle - York to Newcastle leg
65min

This is the third and final scenario in the 3 part series of scenarios covering a complete journey between London Kings Cross and Newcastle, in this scenario you will be driving an East Coast Class 91 from York to Newcastle calling at Doncaster and Durham.

NB. The passenger drop-off instruction would not work at Durham so I have used the "stop at" instruction, on arrival at Durham simply wait for the instruction to complete and you can then proceed to Newcastle. Please obey all signals and speed limits, to obtain the best experience you should drive to the line speed limits.

NB. Requires DPS East Coast Main Line - North East, DTG East Coast Main Line and Settle to Carlisle routes....and DTG Class 91 add-ons.

Scenarios for Just Trains: Western Mainlines

HST Cardiff to London Paddington_v2  118min

Revised version for the SP3 update of the route

You will be driving a HST Express train from Cardiff Central to London Paddington calling at Newport, Bristol Parkway, Swindon, Didcot and Reading. Due to earlier signalling problems between London Paddington and Reading your train is running late - you should drive the train to Paddington as quickly as possible while obeying all speed limits and signals.

Requires:
Just Trains: Western Mainlines
DTG/RSC:  Cross County Voyager 220          Settle to Carlisle                         London to Brighton            Freightliner Class 66

Alternative version:

This does not replace the first version but sits alongside it. It is identical to the first version except that the 166s west of Bristol have been replaced with Arriva 158s - it is unrealistic to have 166s west of Bristol but they were all that I had when I first created the scenario. Version 2 will require Arriva Wales DMU add-on.
